INTERVIEW
In recent years, skincare has dominated the consumer market, as unblemished, glowy, and glass-skin looks are seen among the masses. As the demand for flawless skin continues to rise, so too has the level of understanding and expectation surrounding the products that promise to deliver these results. With an increased focus on scientific research and product testing, the skincare industry has rapidly evolved, now offering solutions with regenerative properties. For Dr. Augustinus Bader, a renowned physician and scientist, this union of skincare and science was not born out of a desire to create beauty products, but rather out of his inspiring discovery in regenerative medicine, and complex understanding of how the body heals itself when fed the right ingredients. Fuelled by the support of his partner, Charles Rosier, who saw a unique opportunity to bring this advanced medical technology to the consumer skincare market, the Augustinus Bader brand was born.
Speaking with CSP Times, Dr. Bader shares his journey, from leading stem cell research to creating a leading skincare brand that utilises innovation in science, cellular renewal, and product development.

What inspired you to transition from regenerative medicine and tissue engineering into creating skincare products?
Creating a consumer skincare product wasn't something I had previously considered. I am a scientist and physician by profession and don’t have a traditional beauty product development background. After years of working in the field of conventional stem cell technology, I began to understand how the body healed itself in conditions of trauma and inflammation, and I developed a revolutionary wound gel that would provide scar-free healing for patients without the need for surgery or skin grafts.
It was Charles Rosier, my partner in this enterprise, who had the vision to apply my years of research to consumer skincare products, leading me to create the TFC8®, Trigger Factor Complex TFC™, our proprietary technology. He thought if my technology could turn burned skin into perfect skin, then my know-how could be used to develop innovative skincare.
Can you explain how your experience in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine influenced the development of your skincare line?
My background in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine has deeply shaped my approach to skincare innovation. Through decades of research, I have learned that the body has an extraordinary capacity to heal itself when given the right ingredients and environment. Our skincare is rooted in the understanding of cellular renewal. While everyone's skin and skin issues are different, the body’s renewal processes are universal.

What was the initial vision behind the Augustinus Bader brand, and how has it evolved since its inception?
As mentioned in the first question, it was Charles Rosier who had the vision to apply my years of research and know-how to consumer skincare. We sought to translate advanced medical knowledge into products that would harness the body’s innate ability to heal and regenerate itself. The goal was to create solutions that supported not only the appearance of the skin but also its long-term health and vitality.
Since its inception, the brand has evolved to embody not just science and innovation, but a deeper commitment to sustainability and global well-being. We have expanded our range to include body and hair products, as well as address a broader spectrum of skin concerns. We continue to ensure that every product we launch delivers real, visible results backed by rigorous clinical and user testing. Our philosophy continues to be rooted in the intersection of cutting-edge science and overall skin health.
The ABC Method is a cornerstone of your technology. Could you elaborate on its origins and how it differentiates your products from others in the market?
The ABC Method, a breakthrough in regenerative medicine, forms the foundation of my Wound Gel. Developed in 2018, the Wound Gel is a medical-grade hydrogel designed to promote the natural self-repair of traumatic wounds at a cellular level.
At the heart of this innovation is the ABC Method—short for Activation, Boost, and Commitment, which activates and orchestrates the body’s stem cells to support natural healing processes. By addressing these three critical functions simultaneously, the method enhances the body’s ability to repair and regenerate damaged tissue.
Originally created to aid wound healing for burn victims, the success of the Wound Gel revealed the broader potential of this regenerative science. These principles were adapted into a consumer-friendly skincare solution, resulting in our TFC8® technology. Our TFC8® technology, the key ingredient in our products, builds on the ABC Method by stimulating the skin’s natural repair processes, promoting healthier, more resilient skin.
What challenges did you face while translating complex medical research into consumer skincare products, and how did you overcome them?
Translating complex medical research into consumer skincare required bridging the gap between advanced science and practical application. We had to ensure that the science behind TFC8® and the body’s innate renewal processes were communicated effectively. The challenge was not only to ensure its efficacy but also to validate it through rigorous clinical testing and real-world results.
Ultimately, our focus on delivering long-term results, supported by clinical and user trials, and educating our consumers is what set us apart. Our goal is to help people take care of their long-term health and that every product we launch is synonymous with excellence, representing a valuable investment for our consumers.

Augustinus Bader products are known for their unique formulations. What are some key scientific breakthroughs that underpin these formulations?
At the core of our products is our TFC8® technology. It is backed by many years of research and is comprised of high-grade vitamins, lipids, and high-performing proprietary peptides. It is essentially a toolbox that provides the skin with everything it needs, and works by creating the ideal environment for cellular renewal. It also acts as an efficient delivery system, transporting key nutrients to the cells, turning formulations of already powerful ingredients into intelligent skin and hair care. It is with this technology that our formulas are able to target individual skin or hair concerns—everything from the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to hair breakage, volume and shine.
How did your international medical training and collaborations contribute to the global approach and philosophy behind Augustinus Bader?
My international medical training and collaborations exposed me to diverse perspectives on regenerative medicine, emphasising the importance of understanding the body's intrinsic ability to repair itself. These experiences deeply shaped the philosophy behind Augustinus Bader, fostering a global approach that combines cutting-edge science with a universal commitment to improving skin health and overall well-being.

Can you share your personal daily skincare routine?
In general, I prefer to use The Cream during the day and The Rich Cream at night or as an aftersun product. Or sometimes, I mix both before using. Since I have adopted this routine, my skin does not dry out anymore. It also allows for a simple daily routine this way.
What are your 3 travel skincare essentials?
The Ultimate Soothing Cream, The Lip Balm and The Eye Cream are great when I travel because the plane dehydrates your skin.
Looking forward, how do you see the intersection of skincare and regenerative medicine evolving, and what role will Augustinus Bader play in that future?
I envision a future where we utilise the body’s natural healing abilities to treat a wide range of conditions, combining these advancements with personalised medicine to create treatments tailored to each individual’s biological makeup.
