From a legal drama to a sci/fi horror, here’s our guide to everything which will keep you on the edge of your seat from this month to the end of summer.
The Lincoln Lawyer: Season 2 Part 1
There’s always that one production, which is unanimously perceived as the unsung underdog before ascending from the embers to domineer our screens, and last year’s unanticipated hit, The Lincoln Lawyer, catalysed by Michael Connelly’s literary work, is back this month for an encore. Returning with a second season (which will be split into two parts), we once again encounter Mickey, going solo and continuing to oversee his out-of-car legal services, after battling against addiction.

WHAM!
The latest to be added to American filmmaker Chris Smith’s repertoire and following broadly successful productions such as Fyre (2019), Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond (2017) and American Job (1996), this documentary charts the pinnacle of eighties hitmakers WHAM!, along with the ascent of George Michael to international stardom.

The Witcher: Season 3 Volume 1 + 2
After a season punctuated by action and adventure, both intrinsic components when Geralt (Henry Cavill) comes face-to-face with monsters, this one is no different, apart from being the actor’s ultimate, much to the disillusionment of avid followers. Nevertheless, he’s going out with a bang, silver sword and grey wig in hand, to battle adversaries and protect Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Elizabeth Williams).
Watch on: Netflix | Release Dates: Volume 1 (out now), Volume 2 (July 27, 2023).
Bird Box Barcelona
Bird Box, with its characters, including Sandra Bullock’s Malorie Hayes precariously navigating a world without their vision, whilst endeavouring to survive against ‘The Creatures’ , fast became one of Netflix’s most memorable productions. Which makes this sequel, announced some weeks ago by the streaming giant, one to once again sit on the edge of your seat for. Whilst this is a by-product sequel, and Sandra Bullock isn’t starring, Bird Box Barcelona, which follows Spanish actor Mario Casas (Sebastian) and his on-screen daughter Anna (Alejandra) desperately striving for survival after being enveloped in the apocalyptic circumstances which characterised its predecessor, provides an ample amount of nail-biting entertainment.

The Bear: Season 2
After receiving critical acclaim and an abundance of praise from viewers because of the uncompromising aptitude of its cast, consolidated with a gripping plot line, this second season sees Jeremy Allen White’s ‘Carmy’ preparing to introduce his contemporarily established restaurant, in the aftermath of the closure of his deceased brother’s sandwich shop, an event which punctuated season one. Also making appearances (and returns) are Olivia Coleman, Bob Odenkirk, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie Richie (Ebon Moss-Backrach).
