How to Spend an Afternoon at Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park London

LONDON

It goes without saying that London houses some of the most incredible, beautiful and brilliant hotels in the world – the result of centuries of heritage. The early 20th century certainly saw a surge in hospitality and many still live on today, including the 1902-established Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park London. Standing tall and mighty in all its Edwardian glory, the luxury hotel sits among city landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Harrods and of course, as its name suggests, Hyde Park. If you're looking to spend an afternoon at this masterpiece mansion, look no further – we've planned your itinerary here.

Begin your afternoon with a stroll around the block – you are among London's most elite neighbourhood. Surrounding attractions include the aforementioned Hyde Park, Harrods and Buckingham Palace, while cultural stops including museums and galleries. Step into the swish space that is the hotel to experience British service from the moment you arrive.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental London is a five-star urban retreat for indulgent, immersive pampering. Unveiling its new look last year in its underground location, the spa features an impressive treatment menu that spans acupuncture with a TCM practitioner to facials with Linda Merideth. Busy bees opt for the Digital Wellness Escape package for the full experience. We recommend the OSKIA facial, followed by a Bastien Gonzalez mani-pedi, but be sure to arrive at least 45 minutes before your appointment to make the most of the onsite facilities. There's an Amethyst Crystal Steam Room, Sanarium, Vitality Pool, Zen Colour Therapy Relaxation Area, fully-equipped fitness centre with state-of-the-art technology by Technogym®, including treadmills, cross trainers, bikes and a rowing machine and 17-metre twin lane, stainless-steel indoor swimming pool with a lap timer. The Couple’s Oriental Suite has its own Rasul water temple.

After your serene spa experience, make your way to the Rosebery, a chic backdrop for quintessential British afternoon tea and a year-round excuse for scones and dessert over long overdue catch ups. Fancy something stronger? Opt for the champagne tea set.

Not quite ready for the afternoon to end? Book yourself a night in one of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park's rooms or suites, but we'd opt for the latter – it comes with butler service.
