Vivaz Fine Jewelry is no ordinary jeweller. The Hong Kong-born brand offers clients an immersive, hands-on journey from the very beginning, sharing a wealth of experience in premium diamonds. Recognising a lack of transparency in the industry, founder Sunaina Chand founded Vivaz Fine Jewelry with the mission to inspire and empower its beholders. We speak with Chand on inspirations and what to know about finding your perfect diamond.
How did you get into the fine jewellery industry and what inspired you to start Vivaz?
I initially started in public relations, working with the world's most renowned designers along with a team of inspiring entrepreneurs. It was during this time I was introduced to the amazing world of Fine Jewellery. Clients began to approach me to source diamonds for them and after realising the deliberate lack of transparency, I was motivated to establish Vivaz.
What is the inspiration behind the name VIVAZ?
I was going through a personal shift and wanted to change my life around to experience it to the fullest while creating a healthy avenue for myself. Although the thought of starting a jewellery company without a family legacy was daunting, I went ahead anyway. I enrolled myself in the Gemological Institute Of America, GIA, to understand diamonds on a deeper level. During this process, I felt a zest for life that I hadn’t felt in a long time. Everything around me was beautiful. I chose VIVAZ, with a feeling that best described my emotional state of mind, a sense of being alive.
What are some jewellery essentials every woman should have?
Definitely a solitaire diamond. It is a must-have and goes a long way. It maintains its beauty, it's durable and long-lasting. Retaining some value for resale, more recently, these 'everlasting' gemstones have already proven their security aspect for investment purposes. Financial commodities such as movable assets are important as are some traditional financial investments. Low interest rates and falling markets make investing in diamonds appealing to add to a diverse portfolio.
The continuous transformation of women through challenges and successes inspires my designs. My interpretations of the classics are both bold and graceful, conveying a woman who isn’t afraid to create her own path.

Could you tell us about some of your bestselling collections at VIVAZ?
Our Black Tie Collection and engagement rings are our most fast and best-selling products. The collection stays true to the classic appeal, while redefined to a modern take. No shortcuts are considered. Creating artistry through digital and physical software with each piece, Vivaz brings every design to a comfortable, durable, and endless allure.
What makes your brand unique?
The Vivaz Showroom holds many styles, each appealing to individual personalities while celebrating the art of jewellery. We provide ready-to-wear fine diamond jewellery, certified investment pieces such as fancy colour diamonds, and rare gemstones like Colombian emeralds and Paraiba tourmalines. Vivaz also exclusively showcases designers such as Paolo Costagli & Giovanni Ferraris and other elite designers.
How can one begin their journey in choosing the perfect piece of jewelry?
Women gravitate toward jewels that match their personality. It is that freedom of expression. When it comes to ready fine jewellery it has to communicate who you are. With investment pieces such as engagement rings or fancy colour diamonds, the GIA grading report isn't enough to make a decision, you have to understand the faceup value such as how certain clarity characteristics, measurement, and cut affect your purchase.
