Central is brimming with spas and salons at every corner, but a more niche category which fulfils all pampering needs in one go are harder to find—a reliable spa and salon, which serves both functions at the same time (and during the same experience). At Indulgence Salon, guests can have their hair done while soaking up a mani-pedi. In a city where time is scarce and folk are always on-the-go, this much-needed respite covers you quickly and efficiently. We took a well-deserved break from desk slumping to indulge in a moisturising Japanese hair treatment while getting her nails done.

The moment I walked into Indulgence Salon, I was swooned by the contemporary-chic interiors and furnishings complemented with natural daylight flooding the space. Guests are welcomed first by the elegant entrance and reception area, where one can sit back and relax in the plush chairs while waiting for an appointment.

Spa & salon concept
The beauty of Indulgence Salon is its merging of two, well, indulgent pampering services—holistic therapies at a spa and high-end hair treatments at the salon. Guests can spend hours here if they please, or perhaps for those with a shorter time frame, a mini-treatment or two-in-one, like myself.

Treatments
Using a cliché phrase like head-to-toe pampering couldn’t be more applicable than to my experience at Indulgence Salon, which started with a pedi leading up to the locks on my head. I sat back in the salon chair ready for my plethora of treatments to come, from the comfort of my seat. My hair stylist Maggie warmly introduced herself and we were set for the Japanese hair conditioning and cut.
I opted for a soak-off gel manicure and pedicure to reignite some colour and health in my otherwise overgrown nails. The mani-pedi was quick and efficient, and after a hair wash, Maggie helped to untangle the knots and blow-dry my hair while my nails were being prepared.

The treatment that I tried was the Japanese B5 Infant Complex Treatment (HK$1,000), a deep conditioning and restorative formula aimed at helping hair vitality. My years of exploring beauty salons have taught me that regular deep-conditioning treatments are essential for picture-perfect (and more importantly, healthy) hair.

Results
With the sudden change in weather from Hong Kong’s excruciating humidity to the dry winter, my hair undoubtedly experienced the consequences, leading to oily, frizzy problems. Maggie cut and conditioned my hair to success, resulting in a healthier, bouncier do. I could feel the changes for weeks thanks to the deep conditioning repair making it easier to handle and tame. My nails were ready before we even started the conditioning treatment which gave me time to read some magazines while waiting for the last bits to soak in. If you’re a busy bee like most city hustlers, Indulgence Salon offers a peaceful respite and results-driven outlook on its treatments, aided by well-experienced professionals.
