With stellar views and gorgeous weather, the golf courses in Hong Kong are one-of-a-kind. They provide an escape from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong’s central district. However, whilst there is no doubt that golfing in Hong Kong should be experienced by everyone, memberships to Hong Kong’s exclusive golf courses are a different story. Considered by locals as a financial investment, there is plenty to consider when purchasing your course membership. Whether you are a golf guru or simply seeking a relaxed day out with friends, CSP Times has collated a checklist of the best golf courses Hong Kong has to offer.
Hong Kong Golf Club

This famous Hong Kong Golf Club was founded in 1889. The Fanling-based club provides members with the options of coaches, caddies, and nocturnal-range amenities across its three 18-hole courses. If that is not enough for you then HKGC has a 9-hole sister course in Deep Water Bay. Membership stands full-swing at HK$5 million HKD and the waitlist nearing two years; however, the course is also available for public use and many non-players golf at the club.
Historically, the original course was located in the centre of the Happy Valley Racecourse, however in 1911, the Club was relocated to its central location in Fanling. Annually, the Club presents The Hong Kong Open, and is currently ranked 52 in the world for best golf clubs. In 2018 it was voted the Asian Tour Tournament of the Year as well as Golf Course of the Year. With its historical significance and array of prestigious awards, it is no surprise that HKGC is considered a hole-in-one by many players.

Its mission: to progress the game of golf through publicisation. The club is wholly community-centred as the JCKSC provides lessons to schools in Hong Kong as well as easily accessible and affordable playing for members of the public.
